The Carl Hansen CH88 Dining Chair was designed as a prototype by Hans J.Wegner in 1955. It was influenced by Chinese iconography, and Wegner described it as "Minimalism on four legs", although it was never manufactured in his lifetime. It was only in April 2014, to mark the centenary of Wegner's birth, that Carl Hansen & Son put the chair into production. Made from steel and wood, It comes with a seat back in a range of natural beech, oak and smoked oak finishes as well as painted beech options. This versions has an upholstered seat, again in a range of fabrics and leathers. The leg structure is either stainless steel, chrome or powder coated in a range of colours. With so many variation available the CH88 really is a chair which you can make your own.
