The VLA77 Foyer Sofa has been brought to market for the first time since 1945 by Carl Hansen & Son, in collaboration with Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects. Combining a solid oak frame with sumptuous leather upholstery, meticulously stitched with hand-made buttons, the VLA77 stands as a testament to the exceptionally talented craftspeople at Carl Hansen & Son.
Perfectly uniting function with form, the inviting, light and sculptural sofa forms part of the wider Foyer Series, and was originally designed for Radiohuset (The Radio House) in Copenhagen by Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen. Today, the building houses the Royal Danish Academy of Music.
The VLA77 Foyer Sofa is one of three furniture pieces in the series and is simple in its expression. Constructed from FSC-certified solid oak, the chair features a foam-filled cushion upholstered in leather, beautifully finished with handmade buttons.
